2. Investigate the structure and function of human organs
3. Demonstrate and understanding of the various human organ systems and how they interact
Examples:
- Impacts of smoking and sun safety
- Impacts of TV, and the internet
- Exercise
- Joints, muscles, bone
- Musculoskeletal system, digestive system, nervous system, circulatory system
- Diseases
Understanding Structures and Mechanisms: Forces Acting on Structures and Mechanisms
1. Analyze the social and environmental impacts of forces acting on structures
2. What forces act on structures and mechanisms
3. The effects of these forces on the structures and mechanisms
Examples:
- Natural forces like tornados and hurricanes
- Measuring force
- Building your own structures
- Pulleys and levers
- Bridges
- Sport equipment and how they protect us against forces
Understanding Matter and Energy: Properties of Changes in Matter
1. Analyze the social and environmental impact of the process of making everyday products
